Our Mission
The Hood Squad 216 was Founded in 2020 with the intentions of bringing hot showers and food to the homeless communities around Northeast Ohio. What does Hood squad 216 mean your asking? It means (H)elping (O)ur (O)wn (D)evelopments (S)peak (Q)uality (U)plift the youth (A)ccomplish goals & (D)ecisions and 216 is our area code. Our mission is to empower.
Who We Are
The Hood Squad 216 is a nonprofit 501(c)3 that drives around Northeast Ohio and surrounding counties to bring hot showers to our unsheltered homeless communities. We also do street outreach and provide sub zero clothing in the winter and fashionable clothes in the summer. Being homeless totally sucks, as our founder David personally experienced firsthand. We love putting smiles on people’s faces, along with a fresh shower and clean clothes daily while people are experiencing tough times.
Mobile Shower Bus
We provide hot showers throughout Northeast Ohio and surrounding counties in a massive E-450. The Hood Squad 216 is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Non-Profit 501(c)3 is aimed to giving people hope and bringing joy to them in any situation they might be facing.
Our Goals
Our goal is to bring hot showers, clothing, food & care products to the homeless community without leaving anyone left behind.
What We Offer
The Hood Squad 216 provides food, a mobile shower, clothing, feminine hygiene, children’s clothing, and much more.We also offer help to those in need of building their resume to help with employment, as well as link individuals with substance use disorder to different resources they may need.
Outreach Impact
15,000 + Meals served with Luis Gonzalez and Luis Gonzalez Jr Directors of the Hunger Center in 2020 & 2021. In 2021 & 2022 Participated in National Night Out. In 2021 Stop the Violence Against Asian Hate. In 2021 & 2022 Voices Against Violence. In 2022 Jkl program speaking to youth (John Adams High school) In 2022 Helping rebuild Puerto Rico. 40+ showers monthly 12+ showers weekly. 600 meals at Reach out (2023)
